These women are more than just participants in the tech industry; they are pioneers, problem-solvers, and leaders shaping the future of technology at Hirschmann Automotive.
Raising Awareness About Stereotypes
For decades, gender stereotypes have created invisible barriers for women in technical fields. Outdated beliefs about which professions »suit« women have limited opportunities and slowed progress. But times are changing.
We are committed to challenging these biases and fostering an inclusive workplace where talent, not gender, defines success. We believe that diversity fuels innovation, and by empowering women in technical roles, we create a stronger, more dynamic industry.
To gain insight into the experiences and perspectives of women in tech, we spoke with seven remarkable women from our global locations. Their journeys reflect not only their personal achievements but also the progress we are making as an industry.
Adelina Costea | Quality Engineer Production (Târgu Mureș, Romania)
Adelina Costea, a Quality Engineer in Production, began her journey while still a student, balancing academics with professional responsibilities. Despite facing skepticism about her experience, her determination and proactive mindset helped her rise to her current role.
She encourages young women to consider a career in technical fields. Although there is often a stereotype of it being a male-dominated industry, she sees it differently. For her, it’s a field suited for individuals with analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and a sense of responsibility for their actions, regardless of gender.
Looking to the future, she is confident that the number of women in technical professions will continue to grow.

Gabriela Andronic | 3D Coordinate Metrology Expert (Târgu Mureș, Romania)

Gabriela Andronic's journey at Hirschmann Automotive is one of adaptability and continuous growth. Starting in the Control Center, she has advanced to her role as a 3D Coordinate Metrology Expert.
She takes pride in a project where her team in the Toolshop modified a new mold, an adjustment requiring extreme precision. »It may seem small, but for me, it was a defining moment. I worked meticulously, ensuring every detail was perfect. And in the end, the adjustment was flawless.«
Her story is a powerful reminder that attention to detail and a commitment to excellence drive real impact.
Helena Tomanová | Technology Planner (Vsetín, Czech Republic)
With over 20 years in engineering, Helena Tomanová embodies experience, expertise, and passion. Logical thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity led her to a career she knew was right from the start.
She has witnessed firsthand the positive shift in perceptions of women in technical roles:
»I see it in our company and beyond. Many of my female colleagues hold technical degrees and work in management, sales, or even teach mathematics and physics. The landscape is evolving.«
Helena’s journey is a testament to this progress, proving that talent and perseverance can break any barrier.

Michaela Stastna | Special Machine Design (Vsetín, Czech Republic)

Michaela Stastna's passion for engineering was sparked by her parents, especially her father, who inspired her to embrace tasks traditionally seen as »men’s work.« As a Special Machine Designer, she has not only mastered her craft but also defied gender stereotypes.
She encourages young women to pursue their interests fearlessly: »If engineering excites you, go for it. Don’t let doubts stop you. Your skills and passion matter more than outdated perceptions.«
Her journey proves that confidence and dedicaton open doors in even the most male-dominated fields.
Samia Korich | Leader Order Fulfillment & Production Planning (Kenitra, Morocco)
From Material Planner to Leader of Order Fulfillment & Production Planning, Samia Korich has demonstrated that emotional intelligence is a strength, not a weakness, in leadership.
»As a woman in a technical field, I’ve sometimes faced the stereotype that women are more emotionally driven than logical. But I’ve shown that emotional intelligence is actually a leadership advantage; it strengthens communication, teamwork, and decision-making.«
With more women stepping into leadership roles, Samia is proud to be part of this change, proving that diverse perspectives strengthen industries.

Lamyae Tahiri | Segmentleader Production (Kenitra, Morocco)

Lamyae Tahiri’s career, from Prototype Segment Leader to Production Manager, is defined by ambition, discipline, and resilience.
One of her greatest achievements was taking on a newly created Lean Management Leader position despite an ambitious cost-saving target that initially seemed unattainable. »I remember thinking, ‘How will I ever achieve this?’ But I did. It was a defining moment.«
As a mother and an engineer, she balances both worlds, living her passion every day. Her advice to young women:
»Believe in yourself; everything else is just details. The path won’t be easy, but it’s worth it. My five essential rules for success:
- integrity
- organization
- fixed routines
- never trust what you don’t see
- consistency.«
Her journey proves that structure, confidence, and resilience lead to success.
Cindy Li | Development Engineer (Nantong, China)
For Li Cindy, success in technical fields begins with mastering hard skills. As a Development Engineer in High-Voltage Product Development, she emphasizes proficiency in industry-standard tools like Catia and the ability to build a personal knowledge base from past projects.
She believes self-doubt is one of the biggest barriers for women in tech:
»Never let the world's stereotypes of women stop you from aiming higher.«
Looking ahead, Cindy sees growing opportunities for women in the automotive industry. Still, she emphasizes the need for more female leaders in technical management: »More women in decision-making roles will ensure fairer evaluation systems and reduce unconscious bias.«
Her vision for the future? An industry where, in more companies, talent, not gender, defines leadership.

Tammy Song | Head of Production (Nantong, China)

With 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, Tammy Song has advanced from an engineer to Head of Production at Hirschmann Automotive Nantong. She believes commitment, technical expertise and strong communication skills are key to success.
»Women have stepped into all kinds of roles in society. It is no exaggeration to say that women can hold up half the sky. Our keen observation, endurance, and communication skills make us invaluable in technical fields.«
One of her proudest moments was leading a team to resolve a critical technical issue early in her career, reinforcing her commitment to the industry. She encourages young women to follow their passion in tech fearlessly.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!
By fostering equal opportunities and championing inclusivity, we are paving the way for more women to thrive in technical and leadership roles. These inspiring stories serve as motivation for young women considering a career in tech. They prove that ambition, talent, and determination can overcome any barrier.
Together, we are shaping a future where everyone has the opportunity to excel.
Let's inspire the next generation of women in technology!
