Sales Growth through Innovative Strategies

Despite the challenging economic environment, the international automotive supplier recorded sales growth of 16% in 2023 compared to the previous year. This achievement, coupled with strategic investments of 93 million Euro, underscores the commitment to growth in 2024. While the market penetration of e-vehicles may be slower than anticipated, a clear strategy and the development of strategic new products, including plans for two new plants, position Hirschmann Automotive for a positive sales trend in 2024.

New Plant: Morocco Expansion

Hirschmann Automotive is responding to the growing call for customer proximity with its international focus: around 7,350 employees worldwide are currently working on today's and tomorrow's mobility. The headquarters are located in Rankweil (Austria), alongside other locations in Vsetín (Czech Republic), Târgu Mureș (Romania), Kenitra (Morocco), Nantong (China), San Miguel (Mexico) and Detroit (USA).

The construction of a second plant in Morocco will begin in the current financial year, with commissioning planned for 2025. There are many reasons for the decision to establish another production site in Morocco. The company has already had very good experience setting up operations in Kenitra over the past 12 years. Political stability, the availability of skilled workers, and business development programs contributed significantly to this decision. The new plant in Oujda offers excellent access to major transportation routes. Around 700 jobs will be created, allowing Hirschmann Automotive to make a significant contribution to the development of the local economy.

Expansion in China: Plant Expansion Announced

China is and remains a key market for the automotive industry and, therefore, plays an important role for the company. Parallel to the expansion in Morocco, work is also underway on a new plant in China. In addition to the existing production site in Nantong, near Shanghai, a further plant is to be built in north-eastern China. The strategically favorable location makes it possible to benefit from the resources and growth of the Chinese automotive sector. Agreements have already been reached with local government representatives in Shenyang regarding the future location of the plant. Construction is planned to start in 2025.

For a Sustainable, Mobile Future

»The expansion of our production sites with two new plants in Morocco and China underlines our commitment to growth and innovation in the automotive industry. Through the targeted placement of our new plants and the use of local resources, we strive to strengthen our global presence, be even closer to our customers, and secure long-term growth. We are confident that these expansions will lead our company into a promising future,« says Angelo Holzknecht, Chief Executive Officer.
