HPS280 2+2
The HPS280 2+2 is the most powerful connector in Hirschmann Automotive’s HPS 2+2 family. Developed for high-power electric powertrain applications such as inverter, HV battery, and e-motor connections, its 2+2 layout with two high-voltage power contacts and two HVIL contacts transfers high power in a compact package.
With a continuous current rating of 414 A at 85 °C and a 95.0 mm² conductor cross-section, the HPS280 2+2 is built for the highest electrical loads. IP6K9K/IPX8 protection and safety-oriented HVIL functionality come as standard. An optional 360° shielded interface, a two-step unmating concept, modular header assembly variants, temperature sensing, and tool-operated CPA opening allow the system to be configured for individual customer and application requirements.
A robust design with high vibration resistance makes the connector well suited to demanding mechanical conditions. Its rack-and-pinion mating mechanism reduces insertion forces, while the gears support the housing at four points to keep the connection stable under vibration. Repair solutions for male and female housings and readiness for fully automated assembly ensure efficient integration and processing.
