Megatrends in the Automotive Industry - Risk? Opportunity!

Electromobility, autonomous and connected driving, as well as sustainability are influencing market developments in the automotive industry and are considered to be the current megatrends. They will revolutionize individual mobility in the future. Hirschmann Automotive is at the forefront of this challenging transformation phase and is considered the Platzhirsch for individual customer solutions.

As CEO since 2007, Mr. Buth was the driving force behind Hirschmann Automotive’s successful growth, significantly contributing to the automotive supplier’s considerable progress and success over the previous years. Since the beginning of his tenure 15 years ago, sales have increased more than fivefold, a testament to his outstanding service.
A Farsighted Global Player
The expansion of Hirschmann Automotive into a global company is thanks in no small part to Mr. Buth, who demonstrated confidence and great ambition on the international stage. Under his leadership, a number of new sites were established, starting in 2007 with a production facility in Romania during his first year, followed by another in Morocco only a few years later. In 2013/2014, the company made its first foray into the Chinese market with the opening of a sales office in Shanghai as well as a production facility in Nantong. In 2015, a sales office was opened in Detroit, USA, as well as a production facility in San Miguel, Mexico. In 2018, Geissler Präzisionserzeugnisse GmbH and Beutlhauser Stanztec GmbH were acquired, thus establishing a new competence center for stamping and bending technology in Freyung, Germany.
A Visionary and Knowledgeable Strategist
With clear aims, impressive vision, and strong guiding principles, Mr. Buth also oversaw the ongoing development of the company and its product range. He pioneered the development of high-voltage products as part of realigning the company’s electric mobility portfolio in 2009. Customer diversification, the cultivation of several strategically important customer relationships on a global level, and the establishment of signal connectors for 1.2 and 2.8 mm systems for all well-known premium manufacturers are just a few of the most significant milestones that Mr. Buth can proudly look back on.
» It was an honor to be able to work alongside the owners and employees. I will never forget it « , says Volker Buth.
The triumvirate comprising the automotive supplier’s management team – Markus Ganahl (COO), Stefan Tschol (CFO), and Pascal Hetzenauer (CSO) – will assume Mr. Buth’s responsibilities and oversee the company’s continued growth.
