Volker Buth, CEO of Hirschmann Automotive, Resigns

Volker Buth, Chief Executive Officer of Hirschmann Automotive, has decided to resign from business operations due to health reasons. He will continue to remain a part of the company in an advisory capacity.

Pascal Hetzenauer has decided to step down from management for personal reasons. The international automotive supplier has appointed his successor, Angelo Holzknecht, from its own ranks.

As of July 1, 2022, Angelo Holzknecht will assume the agendas of the current Chief Sales Officer, Pascal Hetzenauer, who will be leaving management at his own request at the end of the month. The company will bid farewell to a long-standing employee and managing director who has made a key contribution to the company’s strategic development and success over the past 18 years.

This makes it all the more encouraging that a member of the Hirschmann Automotive Group, who has also been with the company for a number of years, has been found as his successor. Angelo Holzknecht joined the company back in 2011 and has served in a leading management position for many years.

Development Success on the International Stage

He holds a degree in business administration and has outstanding product and process knowledge, which he gained at the beginning of his career in the Hirschmann Automotive Group. The Managing Director hails from Vorarlberg and has been entrusted with setting up the plant in San Miguel, Mexico, since 2015. Approximately 500 employees now work at this site.

During the last few years, he was also responsible for the development and sales activities in North America. The organizational unit in North America now ranks as one of the most productive and successful units within the automotive supplier’s group.

Angelo Holzknecht succeeded in acquiring a wide range of new projects and customers, including major automotive manufacturers, such as Tesla and GM. He consequently played a key role in strengthening Hirschmann Automotive’s market position in the North American region.

Knowledge Leader with Aspirations

Angelo Holzknecht has an outstanding knowledge of the company, and will bring that knowledge to bear in his new role with the aim of contributing to sustainable, profitable growth. The primary focus of his work will be on continuing the strategic development of the sales structure, advancing new technologies as well as bolstering the North American and Chinese markets. In terms of his motivation, Angelo Holzknecht said, »Hirschmann Automotive has evolved into a global automotive supplier over the past few years. We now command a very powerful position in the premium segment. The indicators continue to signal growth, since we identified the trend toward electromobility at an early stage. The main driver for me each and every day is being able to play a part in this exciting transformation of the automotive industry to bring about a sustainable, mobile future.«

Together with the incumbent managing directors, COO Markus Ganahl and CFO Stefan Tschol, Angelo Holzknecht is set to steer the company on its further growth path as CSO.

Markus Ganahl and Stefan Tschol are looking forward to working together. »We are excited to welcome Angelo Holzknecht, an experienced and successful manager from our own ranks, to the management team to partner with our customers to develop solutions for a sustainable, mobile future.«
