As a result of Hirschmann Automotive’s corporate strategy, which aims for a Smart Factory and other smaller trailblazing projects, the Digitalization department was established in September 2018. To my delight, I became one of the seven employees of this group, because I have a passion for digitization, Industry 4.0, IT innovations, and new technologies.
Although I have only been part of the company since 2016 and am currently still studying industrial engineering on a part-time basis, I have the unique opportunity to participate in projects and processes that are crucial to the development of the Smart Factory. The confidence shown in me through this and the strategy of promoting progress into the future embody Hirschmann Automotive’s attributes as a highly attractive employer. When an individual shows commitment and the willingness to progress, this is noticed by the company and personal development is encouraged.
While a hierarchical structure does exist, a very open and friendly corporate culture is practiced – despite the size of the company and its global presence – right down from the top level through all other positions. Hirschmann employees do not pit themselves against one another, but instead work together. Problems are addressed, constructive criticism is implemented, and joint solutions are sought. This makes the work fun! Even outside working hours, it is not uncommon to be in contact with colleagues socially, for example going on outings together.
